Department of Commerce

The Department of Commerce, Amguri College was established in 2013. The department runs two programmes simultaneously — Higher Secondary and B.Com. Two Honours courses are offered at B.Com. level: Accounting & Finance and Marketing. The department regularly organises seminars related to the field of commerce for the benefit of students.

From the beginning, several teachers have served this department including Mr. Parag Gogoi, Dr. Mayuri Saikia, Mr. Dhurjyoti Boruah and Mr. Biswajit Sharma. At present the three teachers are Mrs. Debi Deb Dutta, Mr. Devojit Gogoi and Mr. Samiron Bhagawati.

Students have consistently produced good results since the department's inception. The department publishes a handwritten magazine named 'Ramdhenu' annually for the intellectual and mental development of students. Many graduates from this department are employed in public and private sectors, and many are self-employed.
